Over a year after the BFF character was revealed at the Central Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, rumors started to swirl that KAWS would be releasing a 13-inch vinyl edition of the much loved character. Sure enough, this BFF Vinyl Open Edition in Black released in October, 2017. This black version was available exclusively through KAWSONE, and features and all-black body with a contrasting pink nose and white eyes.

Richard Orlinski’s Born Wild concept explores the philosophical question about the difference between man and beast.
The sculptor has chosen the Kong , the most human of his animals, to embody The Thinker in tribute to Rodin. Unlike the original’s overly muscular build contrasting with a thoughtful stance, the artist has played down the gorilla’s physical strength to focus on its thoughtful side. This is why it seemed obvious to offer this figurine on Orlinski Shop and in the emblematic Orlinski red colour.
